Phonetic:
"Ye'ha'lel'cha
zar ve'lo pee'cha, noch'ree ve'al sfa'tei'cha."
Translation:
Praise should come from other people, not your own mouth.
Meanings:
- It
is not one's self who should speak one's praise but others.
- Humility
is a vital ingredient for personal growth and enrichment. Once a person
is busy praising himself he is busy looking and pumping his own ego,
thus blocking himself from external influence, knowledge and wisdom.
- one
is focused on work itself and not at categorizing it his energy is
targeted towards the right direction and he/she will be rewarded twice
fold.
-
The need for praise is a natural one since praise can build confidence.
However said that, most of our confidence should be generated internally
and not through external means.
